Data Deletion Request

If you have used OrderWitness — directly or through our Facebook or Instagram integration — you can request the deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains what data we hold and how to request its removal.

What Data We Hold

Depending on how you interacted with OrderWitness, we may hold:

  1. Seller account data: name, email, business name, phone, billing history (if you registered an account)
  2. Order confirmation data: customer name, phone, delivery address, and confirmation response — collected when a seller used OrderWitness to send you a confirmation message
  3. Social DM data: WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram message history if you messaged a seller who uses our AI chat feature
  4. Evidence PDFs: cryptographic records of order confirmation responses

How to Request Deletion

If you have an OrderWitness seller account:
Log in at app.orderwitness.com → Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data within 30 days.

If you are a customer who received an order confirmation:
Contact us through the website at orderwitness.com with your phone number or email and request "data deletion." We will remove your personal data within 30 days and confirm by email.

If you connected via Facebook or Instagram:
You can also remove access via Facebook's privacy settings:
Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites → OrderWitness → Remove. We will delete associated data within 30 days of receiving the removal signal.

What Cannot Be Deleted

Evidence PDFs for completed order confirmations may be retained for up to 3 years to meet legal and dispute resolution requirements. These records are part of an active evidence chain and cannot be deleted on request. All other personal identifiers in these records may be anonymised on request.

Confirmation of Deletion

After we process your deletion request, we will send a confirmation email. You can verify that no data is held by attempting to log in — deleted accounts cannot be accessed.
